Application Process

How to Apply for ABUAD Admission — Step by Step

The application process is fully digital. You can complete most of it without leaving your house. Here is exactly how it works for 2026/2027.

1
Create Your Portal Account

Head to the official ABUAD admission portal and register using a personal email address you have direct access to. This email is your lifeline for screening invitations and admission letters.

⚠️ Do not use a cyber café email or anyone else's account. Every important communication — including your offer letter — goes to this email.
2
Pay the Application and Screening Fees

Once your account is set up, pay the application fees online via Quickteller (debit card) or at any commercial bank via PayDirect (print invoice from portal first).

3
Fill the Application Form

After payment is confirmed, complete your application form with accurate bio-data, UTME scores, and O'Level results. Double-check every entry before submitting — errors cannot always be corrected after submission.

4
Attend Post-UTME Screening

Screening is mandatory. The format (physical or virtual) is announced by the university senate, and typically involves academic verification and a diagnostic interview. ABUAD is genuinely assessing whether you are the right fit for your chosen field — prepare accordingly.

5
Track Your Admission Status

Use the "Check Admission" link on the portal to monitor your application. Offers are released in batches — First, Second, and Third Batch — so do not panic if you don't hear back immediately.

✅ Once you receive an offer, accept it on JAMB CAPS promptly to finalize your enrollment. Delay can forfeit your place to a waitlisted candidate.

Insider Tips

Things to Know Before You Apply

These are the things we genuinely wish more applicants knew before starting the ABUAD admissions process. Read them carefully — they can make the difference between an offer and a rejection.

1
Match Your Subjects Exactly

The most common reason for admission denial is a mismatch between O'Level or UTME subject combinations and program requirements. Go over the subject table in the Requirements tab carefully, and confirm on the official ABUAD portal.

2
Apply Early — Seriously

The portal system and admission batches reward early applicants. Competitive programs like Medicine and Law fill their first-batch quotas quickly. Don't wait until the deadline — apply as soon as the portal opens.

3
Budget Beyond Tuition

The school fee tables tell only part of the story. Budget separately for acceptance fees, accommodation, medical screening, and freshers' levies to avoid nasty surprises at resumption. Many families underestimate total Year 1 costs by up to 40%.

4
Direct Entry: Send Transcripts Early

Get your transcripts sent directly from your previous institution to the ABUAD Registrar's office as early as possible. Delays here can cost you your admission slot — the process takes longer than most people expect.

5
Medical Readiness Is Not Optional

All admitted students undergo mandatory medical screening at AMSH before resumption. This is not a formality — ensure you are in good health and ready for full clinical diagnostics before arriving on campus.

6
Use a Personal, Reliable Email

Every important communication from the university goes to your registered email — admission offers, screening dates, resumption notices. A compromised or inaccessible email address can mean missing your admission letter entirely.
