Last Updated: August 2026 | Sourced from ABUAD's official e-portal fee schedule for 2026/2027, all 228 rows across levels 100 to 600, checked 6 August 2026. Where a widely shared figure disagrees with the portal, Section 10 names the source and the size of the gap.
Know a 200 level student or a parent paying fees this session? Send them this page before the money moves. The figures circulating for Medicine are short by over ₦600,000, and the popular pages quote one number for a band of levels when the portal charges a different rate per level. {alertInfo}
Your fee changed when you stopped being a fresher, and not by an amount you can guess. ABUAD has now published the full schedule for 2026/2027, all 228 rows of it, and it covers every level from 100 to 600 rather than the fresher rows alone.
Most returning students pay 87.5 per cent of what they paid in first year. That is the rule, it is exact for 51 of the 53 programmes, and the two programmes it does not cover are the two most expensive ones. The fee also does not keep falling as you go up, which is the assumption that wrecks a budget.
This page gives you the official sub-total for your programme at your level, the real total once accommodation and the ₦40,000 in levies are added, and what your remaining years will cost. Freshers are covered separately in the ABUAD school fees for 100 level fresh students post.

The fee schedule on ABUAD's e-portal now carries 228 tuition rows, covering 53 programmes across seven colleges from level 100 to level 600. It sits on the portal's public School Fees page, under the accordion headed "School Fees Sub-Total", and it needs no login to read.
That is a change worth naming. For most of the admission season the portal only carried the fresher rows, which is why every figure in the ABUAD school fees for 100 level fresh students post came from a single level. All 228 rows were checked on 6 August 2026.
Here is how the rows are distributed, because the distribution itself answers a question students keep asking.
| Level | Programmes listed | What that tells you |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | 53 | Every programme the university admits into |
| 200 | 53 | Every programme again, so no returning cohort is missing |
| 300 | 50 | Three fewer, because 3 programmes have no cohort that high yet |
| 400 | 50 | Same set as 300 level |
| 500 | 18 | Only the five-year and longer programmes |
| 600 | 4 | The four longest programmes in the university |
One caveat about the portal you should know before you rely on it. The accordion is headed "School Fees Sub-Total", but ABUAD's own explanation of what the SUB-TOTAL column actually includes is not visible on the live page. It exists in the page source as commented-out placeholder text, so the portal never tells you whether the figure already contains ICT, library, or departmental charges.
In practice, treat the SUB-TOTAL as tuition and standard service charges only. Accommodation and the compulsory levies are listed separately, in their own two tables further down the same page, and you add them yourself. Section 7 does that arithmetic for you.
Payment windows follow the session calendar rather than the fee schedule, so check the ABUAD academic calendar for the resumption and payment deadlines that apply to your level.
2. The rule behind every returning-student figure
There is one arithmetic rule underneath the whole returning-student schedule. A returning student pays 87.5 per cent of the 100-level figure for the same programme, which is a drop of 12.5 per cent. That holds exactly to the naira for 51 of the 53 programmes.
Business Administration is a clean example. The 100-level sub-total is ₦1,674,000, and 87.5 per cent of that is ₦1,464,750, which is exactly what the portal lists at 200 level. Law behaves the same way: ₦4,554,000 at 100 level becomes ₦3,984,750.
The reason for the drop is that a fresher's first bill carries one-off charges that never repeat. You pay for entry, not for tuition alone. Once those clear, the recurring figure is what you see for every year after.
The 87.5 per cent rule that sets every ABUAD returning-student fee, and the two programmes it does not cover.
The two exceptions, stated up front
Two programmes do not follow the rule, and they are the two most expensive programmes in the university. If you are in either one, do not calculate your own fee.
| Programme | 100 level | 200 level | What the rule predicts | Above the rule |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Medicine and Surgery | ₦6,954,000 | ₦6,483,750 | ₦6,084,750 | ₦399,000 |
| Pharmacy | ₦3,954,000 | ₦3,479,750 | ₦3,459,750 | ₦20,000 |
Medicine and Surgery is the one that hurts. The rule would give ₦6,084,750, but the portal lists ₦6,483,750, which is ₦399,000 more than the pattern predicts. A medical student who budgets by multiplying is short by roughly the cost of a Super Deluxe room.
Pharmacy is off by ₦20,000, which is small enough to miss and large enough to matter at a bank counter. Both figures were read directly from the portal, not derived.
3. 200 level fees, all 53 programmes
This is the table most returning students are looking for. Every one of the 53 programmes appears, grouped by college and ordered from the most expensive down, so you can find your programme and read across.
The spread at 200 level runs from ₦1,184,400 for Agriculture to ₦6,483,750 for Medicine and Surgery. That is a gap of ₦5,299,350 between the cheapest and dearest second-year student on the same campus.
The third column is what you no longer pay compared with your first year. Treat it as a real reduction, but read Section 7 before you spend it, because accommodation does not fall with tuition.

If your programme is one of Cyber Security, Data Science, or Software Engineering, your row stops here for now. Section 4 explains why.
4. 300 and 400 level fees
If you are heading into 300 or 400 level, start with one detail: both levels carry 50 rows, not 53. The three missing programmes are Cyber Security, Data Science and Software Engineering, and the reason is ordinary rather than alarming.
All three are four-year Sciences programmes that ABUAD is still admitting into. They have a 100-level cohort and a 200-level cohort, so those are the only levels with a published rate. Nothing was withdrawn and no programme was cancelled. When the current second-year students move up, the 300-level rows will appear.
If you are in one of the three, that has a practical consequence: your 300 and 400-level fee is genuinely not published yet, so do not accept a third-party figure for it. Ask the bursary and get it in writing.
Does the fee keep falling after 200 level?
Mostly it does not, and this is where you go wrong if you extrapolate. The 12.5 per cent drop happens once, between 100 and 200 level. After that the figure is close to flat for a while and then steps down again at 400.
3 programmes charge exactly the same at 300 level as at 200 level. At 400 level, 50 programmes step down from their 300-level figure. So the shape is a drop, a plateau, then a second drop, not a smooth decline every year.

5. 500 and 600 level fees
Only 18 programmes have a 500-level rate, and only 4 reach 600. If your programme is not in the table below, it is a four-year degree and your final published rate is the 400-level one.
The four programmes that run to 600 level are Dentistry, Medicine and Surgery, Optometry and Pharmacy. Everything else in the university finishes at 400 or 500.

|---|---|---|---|
| Medicine and Surgery | ₦6,007,750 | ₦6,123,250 | 6 |

| Agriculture | ₦1,170,225 | Programme ends at 500 | 5 |
Two warnings for final-year students. First, Medicine and Surgery is advertised by ABUAD as a seven-year programme, but the portal publishes six level rows for it, so the schedule does not cover a seventh year. Second, the 600-level figure is higher than the 500-level figure for three of those four programmes, which Section 8 quantifies.
Pharmacy is the sharpest case. It rises ₦693,000 between 500 and 600 level, so a Pharm.D student's most expensive year after first year is the last one. If you are weighing that programme against Medicine, the Pharmacy vs Medicine fees and salary comparison sets the two side by side.
6. Clinical students
There is no separate clinical rate. This is the single most common misunderstanding about ABUAD's schedule, and third-party pages reinforce it by publishing a "clinical student" fee as though it were its own tier.
The portal lists tuition strictly by programme and level. Nothing in the 228 rows is labelled clinical, pre-clinical, or houseman. If you are an MBBS or Dentistry student in your clinical years, your fee is simply the 400, 500 or 600-level row for your programme.
| Programme | Level | Sub-total |
|---|---|---|
| Medicine and Surgery | 400 | ₦6,007,750 |
| Medicine and Surgery | 500 | ₦6,007,750 |
| Medicine and Surgery | 600 | ₦6,123,250 |
| Dentistry | 400 | ₦3,483,900 |
| Dentistry | 500 | ₦3,483,900 |
| Dentistry | 600 | ₦3,903,900 |
So a 500-level medical student pays ₦6,007,750 because that is the MBBS 500-level rate, not because of a clinical tariff. The figure does not change based on which teaching hospital you are posted to.
What the schedule does not cover is the incidental cost of clinical postings: transport to the teaching hospital, your own instruments, and consumables. The portal is silent on these, so budget for them separately and ask the college office what your set is expected to buy.
7. What each level costs with accommodation and levies
The sub-total is not the number you transfer. The real figure is sub-total plus accommodation plus ₦40,000 in compulsory levies, and for a returning student the levy part is where the good news is.
Returning students pay ₦40,000 in levies, not ₦115,000
The portal lists the ₦75,000 ABUAD Souvenir as fresh students only. That charge disappears the moment you are a returning student, which leaves ₦40,000: a ₦30,000 PTCF levy and ₦10,000 for medical screening.
The portal also lists Students' Association Dues as "As applicable", with no figure. Treat that as a small unknown rather than zero, and ask your college for the current amount.
Accommodation does not drop at all
This is the trap. Your tuition falls 12.5 per cent, but the hostel rate is identical for freshers and returning students. There are 9 room types, from ₦310,000 to ₦1,010,000.
| Room type | No. of occupants | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| 4-Person Room | 4 | ₦310,000 |
| 2-Person Room | 2 | ₦510,000 |
| Ensuite 2-Person Upgraded Room | 2 | ₦560,000 |
| 1-Person Room | 1 | ₦610,000 |
| Ensuite 3-Person Upgraded Room | 3 | ₦610,000 |
| Super Deluxe 4-Person Room | 4 | ₦610,000 |
| Ensuite 1-Person Upgraded Room | 1 | ₦810,000 |
| Super Deluxe 2-Person Room | 2 | ₦810,000 |
| Super Deluxe 1-Person Room | 1 | ₦1,010,000 |
ABUAD hostel accommodation fees 2026/2027: all 9 room types. Rates are the same for freshers and returning students.
The gap between the cheapest and dearest room is ₦700,000, which is larger than the entire annual tuition drop for most programmes. Your room choice moves your bill more than your level does. The ABUAD hostel and accommodation guide covers what each block is actually like before you commit.
Three worked examples at 200 level
| Programme (200 level) | Sub-total | Cheapest room | Levies | Cheapest real total | Dearest real total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Administration | ₦1,464,750 | ₦310,000 | ₦40,000 | ₦1,814,750 | ₦2,514,750 |
| Law | ₦3,984,750 | ₦310,000 | ₦40,000 | ₦4,334,750 | ₦5,034,750 |
| Medicine and Surgery | ₦6,483,750 | ₦310,000 | ₦40,000 | ₦6,833,750 | ₦7,533,750 |
What a 200 level student actually transfers: sub-total plus accommodation plus ₦40,000 in levies.
Read the last two columns as the honest range. A 200-level Business Administration student in a four-person room transfers ₦1,814,750, while the same student in a Super Deluxe single transfers ₦2,514,750.
To build your own figure: take your row from Section 3, 4 or 5, add your room rate, add ₦40,000. That is the transfer.
8. What a full degree costs, start to finish
No page online publishes this, and it is the number you or your parents actually want: the total tuition for a whole degree, first year to final year. Each row below is the sum of every published level for that programme.
Two things to hold in mind before you use these totals. These are tuition sub-totals only, so add roughly ₦350,000 to ₦1,050,000 per year for accommodation and levies. And they are today's rates, not a forecast. ABUAD can revise fees between sessions, so a six-year total is a planning figure, not a quotation.

Medicine and Surgery is the most expensive degree in the university at ₦38,060,250 in tuition across its 6 published levels. Dentistry follows at ₦25,654,200. At the other end, a four-year Arts or Social Sciences degree lands near ₦4,991,625.
The programmes where the fee rises
Five level-to-level increases exist in the whole schedule, and they are the reason you cannot assume your bill only ever falls.
| Programme | Rises between | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Pharmacy | 500 and 600 level | ₦693,000 |
| Dentistry | 200 and 300 level | ₦609,000 |
| Dentistry | 500 and 600 level | ₦420,000 |
| Medicine and Surgery | 500 and 600 level | ₦115,500 |
| Medical Laboratory Science | 200 and 300 level | ₦78,750 |
The five level-to-level fee increases in ABUAD's 2026/2027 schedule, by programme and amount.
Dentistry is worth calling out because it rises twice, once early and once at the end. Pharmacy's ₦693,000 jump at 600 level is the largest single increase in the schedule.
If you are in any of these four programmes, budget the increase now rather than discovering it the week fees are due.
9. Direct entry and inter-university transfer
Direct entry students start at 200 level, so the natural assumption is that they pay the 200-level fee in this article. That assumption is probably wrong, and it is worth a paragraph because this is exactly where the mistake happens.
A direct entry student is academically in year two but is a new student of the university, and the fresher charges apply on a first bill. On that logic a DE student pays closer to the 100-level figure than the 200-level one.
Third-party fee pages state the rule more strongly than that. They say direct entry and inter-university transfer students pay the same amount as fresh undergraduates, and that on the portal you must select the 200DE option rather than plain "200 level" so the system bills you the fresher rate.
Label this unverified. I could not confirm the 200DE billing rule for 2026/2027 from the portal or from any ABUAD publication. The clearest statement of it appears on ismyschool.net, whose page is headed 2024/2025, and the portal's public fee schedule does not mention a DE option at all. Searches run on 6 August 2026 covered the portal fee page, the ABUAD admission notices, and the DE and inter-university transfer pages.
What to do about it is simple. Generate your invoice on the portal and read the level label on it before you pay. If it says 200DE, expect a fresher-level figure and the ₦75,000 souvenir charge. If it says 200 level and you are a DE student, query it with the bursary before transferring anything, because a wrong selection is easier to fix before payment than after.
The ABUAD Direct Entry and inter-university transfer guide covers the application side, including what the DE form costs and which qualifications ABUAD accepts.
10. What the popular pages get wrong for returning students
If you have already found a figure for your level somewhere else, check it against this section before you trust it. The errors below are specific to returning-student figures, and they differ from the fresher-figure errors corrected in the 100-level post. Every quote was re-checked live on 6 August 2026.
| Source | Its claim | What it says | Official 200-level figure | Short by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Savina Academy | MBBS 200–300 level | ~₦5,586,000 | ₦6,483,750 | ₦897,750 |
| Savina Academy | Nursing, returning | ₦1,086,000 | ₦3,459,750 | ₦2,373,750 |
| Androidpols | MBBS 200–300 level | ₦5,875,000 | ₦6,483,750 | ₦608,750 |
| Androidpols | Law 200–400 level | ~₦2,826,500 | ₦3,984,750 | ₦1,158,250 |
Savina Academy publishes an MBBS returning figure of roughly ₦5,586,000 for 200 to 300 level against an official 200-level sub-total of ₦6,483,750, so it is short by ₦897,750. It also gives ₦3,131,000 for MBBS 400 to 600 level, where the portal lists ₦6,007,750 at 400 level. Its Nursing returning figure of ₦1,086,000 is ₦2,373,750 below the real ₦3,459,750.
Androidpols gives MBBS returning as ₦5,875,000 and Law as about ₦2,826,500. Its page is headed 2025/2026, not 2026/2027, which is the honest explanation for part of the gap. The problem is that the page ranks for current-session queries anyway, so a student reads a year-old figure as this year's.
Scholarsnaija states that ABUAD's fees "range from N536,000 to N2,500,000" for both new and returning students. The real 200-level range is ₦1,184,400 to ₦6,483,750. The top of its range is ₦3,983,750 below the actual ceiling, so if you planned a medical programme from that sentence you are not slightly out, you are out by more than the entire quoted maximum.
None of these pages is linked here deliberately. The pattern you should carry away is that any single figure quoted for a band of levels, such as "200 to 400 level", cannot be right for your level, because the portal lists a separate rate per level and the fee changes inside those bands.
Frequently Asked Questions
Returning-student sub-totals at 200 level run from ₦1,184,400 for Agriculture to ₦6,483,750 for Medicine and Surgery. Add accommodation of ₦310,000 to ₦1,010,000 and ₦40,000 in compulsory levies to get the amount you actually transfer.
Yes, once. A returning student pays 87.5 per cent of the 100-level figure, a drop of 12.5 per cent, and that is exact for 51 of the 53 programmes. The fee then stays close to flat at 300 level before stepping down again at 400 level.
It depends entirely on your programme. Business Administration pays ₦1,464,750, Law pays ₦3,984,750, Nursing pays ₦3,459,750 and Medicine and Surgery pays ₦6,483,750. Section 3 lists all 53 programmes.
The official 200-level sub-total for Medicine and Surgery is ₦6,483,750. That is ₦399,000 more than the 12.5 per cent rule predicts, so MBBS is one of only two programmes where you cannot calculate your own fee.
No. The portal lists tuition by programme and level only, with no clinical tier. A clinical student pays the 400, 500 or 600-level row for their programme, so a 500-level medical student pays ₦6,007,750.
Cyber Security, Data Science and Software Engineering appear at 100 and 200 level only. They are four-year Sciences programmes that ABUAD is still admitting into, so no cohort has reached 300 level yet and no rate is published. Nothing was withdrawn.
Adding every published level, Medicine and Surgery totals ₦38,060,250 in tuition, Dentistry ₦25,654,200, Pharmacy ₦19,235,225 and Law ₦17,802,900. A four-year Arts or Social Sciences degree starts near ₦4,991,625. Accommodation and levies are on top of these.
Yes, in four programmes. Dentistry rises ₦609,000 at 300 level and again at 600, Medical Laboratory Science rises ₦78,750 at 300, Pharmacy rises ₦693,000 at 600 and Medicine and Surgery rises ₦115,500 at 600.
Probably not. Direct entry students are new students, and third-party sources say they must select 200DE on the portal to be billed the fresher rate. I could not confirm this officially for 2026/2027, so generate your invoice and check the level label on it before paying.
₦40,000, made up of a ₦30,000 PTCF levy and ₦10,000 for medical screening. The ₦75,000 ABUAD Souvenir is charged to fresh students only, so returning students do not pay the ₦115,000 a fresher pays.
What to Do Next
Do not budget from this article alone. Do this instead, in order.
If the total is a stretch, look at funding before you look at a cheaper room. The ABUAD scholarships and financial aid guide covers what the university itself offers, and NELFUND for ABUAD students explains the federal loan route and whether returning students qualify.
Written by the Everything ABUAD Team
Every tuition, accommodation and levy figure on this page was read directly from ABUAD's official e-portal School Fees Schedule for 2026/2027, covering all 228 published rows across 53 programmes, 9 room types and the published levies, checked 6 August 2026. Whole-degree totals are sums of those published rows and are labelled where a programme's later levels are not yet listed. Third-party returning-student figures from Savina Academy, Androidpols and Scholarsnaija were compared against that schedule on the same date and the gaps are named in Section 10. The 200DE billing rule is third-party sourced and marked unverified.
